- 1898: Discovered that thorium is radioactive
- 1898: Discovered polonium
- 1898: Discovered radium
- 1903: Received Nobel Prize in Physics
- 1909: Became head of Radium Institute
- 1911: Received Nobel Prize in Chemistry
- 1922: Became a fellow the French Academy of Medicine
- 1922-1934: Served as a member of the League of Nations' International Committee on Intellectual Cooperation
- 1930: Elected to the International Atomic Weights Committee
- 1934: Died at age 66 in Passy, France
