  • 1898: Discovers that thorium is radioactive
  • 1898: Discovers polonium
  • 1898: Discovers radium
  • 1903: Receives Nobel Prize in Physics
  • 1909: Becomes head of Radium Institute
  • 1911: Receives Nobel Prize in Chemistry
  • 1922: Becomes a fellow the French Academy of Medicine
  • 1922-1934: Serves as a member of the League of Nations' International Committee on Intellectual Cooperation
  • 1930: Elected to the International Atomic Weights Committee
  • 1934: Died at age 66 in Passy, France
