- 1806: Served as a medic for Zulu and British soldiers during conflict
- 1915: Moves back to India
- 1917: Leads the Champaran Satyagraha movement
- 1921: Becomes leader of the Indian National Congress
- 1922-1924: Sentenced to jail
- 1924-1925: Serves as President of the Indian National Congress
- 1930: Leads the Dandi Salt March
