Steve Jobs and the graphical user interface

This post is a collection of quotes from Steve Jobs (1955-2011) in an interview with Robert X. Cringely in Triumph of the Nerds in 1995. A segment of the interview can be found at this link. There are 2 quotes listed below chronologically. Sources: John Gau Productions, Oregon Public BroadcastingChannel 4PBS

1. "I was so blinded by the first thing [Xerox] showed me which was the graphical user interface. I thought it was the best thing I'd ever seen in my entire life... the germ of the idea was there and they'd done it very well."

2. "Within, 10 minutes it was obvious to me that all computers would work like this someday... You could argue about how many years it would take. You could argue about who the winners and losers might be, but you couldn't argue about the inevitability of it. It was so obvious."
