What is an entity? Here is my definition:
An entity is something that has a distinct and independent existenceI believe that distinctness is the core essence of the word 'entity'. For example, if there was a golf tournament with 500 participants, each participant would be its own entity. This is because every participant's score would be independent from every other participant's score. Another example, in the photo above each pebble is an entity because each one has a clear separation from each other.
